Instruction

MSDP delivers instruction on the ground and in the air: air law and operational procedures in the classroom, class ratings and specialised training in flight.

In brief

Instruction is delivered within approved (ATO) and declared (DTO) training organisations. It covers classroom theory as well as practical flight training, through to specialised ratings.

What makes MSDP’s position particular is that the instructor is also the person who writes the procedures and designs the tools: what is taught matches what is actually operated, rather than a generic manual.

What the service covers

  • Ground instruction: air law, operational procedures, preparation for theoretical examinations.
  • Flight instruction on single-engine piston (SEP) and multi-engine piston (MEP) aircraft.
  • Pilatus PC-12 rating and conversion, including NG and NGX.
  • Aerobatic training.
  • Mountain training, with altiport conversions — notably Megève and Courchevel.
  • Qualifying pilots to operate into Saint-Tropez La Môle aerodrome (LFTZ), under authorisation from the French civil aviation safety directorate (DSAC).
  • Recency and return-to-flight training for qualified pilots.
  • Designing training syllabi and supervising instructors for an ATO or a DTO.

What makes MSDP’s approach different

Flight instruction imposes a teaching discipline that tolerates no approximation: the student must be able to perform alone, correctly, in an environment that does not forgive. The success criterion is simple — training has succeeded when the student no longer needs the instructor.

That is the same standard MSDP applies to its technical training on the ground, and the reason instruction stands as a service in its own right rather than as an add-on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Under what framework is instruction delivered?

Within approved (ATO) and declared (DTO) training organisations, which issue the corresponding regulatory ratings. MSDP is not itself an approved training organisation.

Which ratings are covered?

Single-engine piston (SEP) and multi-engine piston (MEP) class ratings, Pilatus PC-12 rating and conversion (NG and NGX), aerobatics, and mountain training with altiport conversion.

Do you provide the Saint-Tropez La Môle qualification?

Yes. MSDP holds authorisation from the French civil aviation safety directorate (DSAC) to qualify pilots to operate into Saint-Tropez La Môle aerodrome (LFTZ), access to which requires a specific qualification.

Is instruction delivered in French or English?

In both languages.
